The lazy days of summer are upon us -- well for some of us. Many Methodist Hospital Task Core members are working year round on our activities with the Assistant Treasurer, Placement and Yearbook Chairmen, and the Steering Committees of Art and Antiques and Women’s Health Symposium particularly never stopping to take a breath.

Please turn in yours dues and Committee Placement Forms so our committee chairmen will have a full roster and the yearbook will accurately reflect your involvement. Each member is asked to serve on at least one committee and to express her interest on the Placement Form. The yearbook will go to press before we know it!

Speaking of the Yearbook, you will see that the first and second General Meetings of the year will NOT be at Methodist. Why?  Wanting to adhere to Wednesday as a meeting day, and finding that there was no space available on a Wednesday in September at Methodist, we searched for an alternate location. The new Performing Arts Center of Marquette Manor’s expanded campus will be our location for the September 15, 2010 Meeting. In October we will meet in the homes of Task Core Past Presidents and others who have offered to host “Sectionals” in our own neighborhoods. While this addresses the requests of some members to meet on the north side, it is important that we hold many of our meetings at the location that we serve. We will be doing both this year.

Our 25th Anniversary year gave us a chance to reflect and rejoice and now is the time to renew our commitment to the continued support of Methodist Hospital and the community through fundraising, education, fellowship and outreach.

Cheers,

Gail McDermott-Bowler, President-elect Methodist Hospital Task Core
